Operative (Magnesium) - NDT Level 2 (Billets/Extrusion)Luxfer MEL Technologies is a global leader in the development, manufacture and supply of Magnesium and Zirconium based products and services to technology industries worldwide. We have approximately 300 employees across the UK & US.As a Manufacturing Operative you will support the 24/7 operation in the Magnesium department, working on ultrasonic testing of our products, following manufacturing procedures as safely and efficiently as possible to fulfil production plans. This will involve:Operating process equipment and machinery, including ultrasonic testing equipmentMonitoring processes and recording parameters for production records, log sheets and SAP transactionsCommunicating status to other operators and departmentsPerforming in house tests/analysis to ensure product is produced in line with specificationsPacking of finished goods into drums, bags, onto pallets or other forms of container for transportationAiding in the investigation and identifying the root cause of out of spec product and or production issuesWhat you’ll need to be considered for this Ultrasonic Testing NDT Operative / Manufacturing Operative role:5x GCSE’s (Incl. Eng, Maths) – A-CAchieved as a minimum Level 2 Ultrasonics to Aerospace standard BS EN 4179, (Level 3 would be a distinct advantage)Experience with ultrasonic immersion testing methodsExperience working in an industrial or manufacturing environment,Safety conscious and have a high level of attention to detailProfessional approach to work and a team playerExperience working in an industrial or manufacturing environmentMust have experience on manual lathes or saws - Preferably qualified machinistFLT licenceMust have a valid forklift truck licence.
