Learning Support Assistant Permanent & Fixed‑Term / £19,727.31 ‑ £20,628.61 (38 weeks per year) Think FE are proud to be working with an Ofsted‑rated “Good” further education college in Middlesbrough who are seeking a committed Learning Support Assistant to join their supportive team. This role is ideal for someone passionate about helping young people succeed and ready to support students in a variety of ways. What you’ll do Work alongside teaching staff to assist students in lessons, offering support with reading, writing, note‑taking and general literacy/numeracy needs. Provide behaviour and time‑management support to help students engage positively in college life. Escort students between lessons when required, ensuring they arrive on time and are settled for learning. Develop strong relationships with students who may have learning difficulties and/or disabilities, understanding how to adapt support appropriately. Assist with day‑to‑day student life: supporting independence, monitoring progress, liaising with staff where needed. What we’re looking for GCSEs in Maths and English (grade C/4 or above or equivalent) are essential. Level 2 qualification (or above) in Supporting Students/Teaching Assistants, Manual Handling, First Aid – desirable. Previous experience of supporting students with learning difficulties/disabilities is highly valued. Good communication and interpersonal skills – you’ll be trusted to build rapport, motivate and support students. Reliable, organised and able to manage time effectively. Ability to adapt and respond positively to changing situations within the classroom and college setting. What’s on offer Actual salary of £19,727.31‑£20,628.61 (for 38 weeks per year).
