Food Technician - Secondary School - Barnet - Immediate/ASAP Start - Full-Time Are you organised, practical, and enthusiastic about supporting food technology lessons? Tradewind Recruitment are supporting welcoming and well-run secondary schools in Barnet who are seeking Food Technicians to join their teams on a full-time, long-term basis. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a practical environment and supporting teaching and learning. Food Technician - Role Overview As a Food Technician, you will play a key role in supporting the smooth running of the Food Technology department. Duties include: Preparing, setting up, and clearing away ingredients, equipment, and resources for lessons. Supporting students during practical activities and promoting safe working practices. Maintaining high standards of hygiene across food preparation areas. Monitoring stock levels, ordering ingredients, and rotating supplies. Ensuring equipment is cleaned, maintained, and stored safely. Assisting with classroom displays, resource preparation, and general departmental support. Maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with health and safety guidelines. Requirements Previous experience in a kitchen, catering, or food technology environment (school experience desirable). Strong organisational skills and attention to detail. Good communication skills and confidence supporting young people. Understanding of food hygiene and safe working practices. A positive, proactive, and hands-on attitude.
