A fantastic special school in Gateshead is looking for a Pastoral Support Assistant who can bring calm, care and consistency to pupils who need a little extra support day to day.You’ll be the person students turn to when things feel overwhelming, the steady voice that helps them regulate, and the trusted adult who celebrates every small win with them.What you’ll be doing Supporting pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs Helping students regulate their emotions and manage challenging moments Building strong, positive relationships based on trust and respect Working with teachers, therapy teams and pastoral leads to create consistent support plans Creating safe spaces, calm routines and opportunities for pupils to reconnect with learning Keeping clear, sensitive records to support pupil wellbeing What we’re looking for Experience supporting young people with SEMH or SEND Someone patient, emotionally aware and able to stay calm under pressure A great listener who knows how to build rapport quickly A team player who brings positivity and care into the school community A genuine desire to help pupils feel safe, valued and able to succeed Why join Protocol Education?
