We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join our high-performance manufacturing team specialising in electrical equipment. The successful candidate will be responsible for assembling, installing, maintaining, and repairing mechanical systems and components across our production lines, ensuring all work meets stringent safety, quality, and regulatory requirements. Roles & Responsibilities Assemble mechanical components and sub-assemblies used in high-voltage enclosures Interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical specifications accurately. Fit, test, and verify mechanical systems to ensure compliance with design and operational standards. Diagnose mechanical faults and perform corrective maintenance to minimise downtime. Conduct mechanical overhauls on rotating machinery and critical plant equipment. Maintain accurate maintenance records and report potential issues proactively. Work safely around high-voltage systems, adhering strictly to all safety procedures and lockout/tagout protocols. Ensure all mechanical fitting activities comply with industry regulations and internal quality standards. Participate in risk assessments, toolbox talks, and safety improvement initiatives. Collaborate with electrical fitters, engineers, and production teams to ensure coordinated workflow. Skills & Experience Time-served apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or Fitting. Proven experience in a manufacturing, engineering, or heavy-industry environment. Background working with or around high-voltage electrical equipment is highly desirable. Strong mechanical fitting, assembly, and diagnostic skills. Ability to read detailed engineering drawings and schematics. Ability to work independently or as part of a multidisciplinary team. Click apply now for more information
