Job Title - .NET Developer (Contract)Location - London (Hybrid – 2–3 days onsite)Contract Type - Contract (Outside IR35 / Inside IR35 – depending on client)Duration -12 months (likely extension)Day Rate - CompetitiveRole OverviewWe are looking for an experienced .NET Developer to join a delivery-focused engineering team working on business-critical systems in a fast-paced London-based environment. The role will involve building, enhancing and supporting modern .NET applications, collaborating closely with product, QA and DevOps teams, and contributing to the ongoing modernisation of legacy platforms.This is a hands-on contract role suited to a developer who is comfortable owning features end-to-end and working in production environments.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop and maintain applications using C# and .NET / .NET CoreContribute to the development of RESTful APIs and backend servicesWork on the modernisation and refactoring of legacy .NET applicationsCollaborate with product managers, business analysts and QA to deliver high-quality featuresWrite clean, testable and maintainable code following best practicesParticipate in code reviews and contribute to improving engineering standardsSupport production systems, including bug fixing and performance tuningWork within Agile / Scrum delivery teamsRequired Skills & ExperienceStrong commercial experience with C# and .NET / .NET CoreExperience building and consuming REST APIsSolid understanding of object-oriented design and software engineering principlesExperience with SQL Server and relational databasesFamiliarity with unit testing frameworks (e.g. xUnit, NUnit, MSTest)Experience working in Agile delivery environmentsComfortable working as a contractor in a delivery-focused roleNice to HaveExperience with cloud platforms (Azure preferred; AWS also acceptable)Knowledge of Docker and containerised applicationsFrontend experience with Angular, React or BlazorCI/CD experience using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions or similarExperience in financial services or other regulated environmentsIf you’re a Senior .NEt Developer who wants challenging work, modern tools, and the freedom that comes with contract roles, we’d love to hear from you.
