Positive, inspiring and inclusive; you'll be continually supported to thrive in your role, and work collaboratively towards common goals for a positive impact.Within this role, you will:Prepare desk studies and collate ornithological data sets.Prepare and plan field surveys, collaborating with colleagues.Implement surveys across the UK, as part of a survey team.Manage, analyse and interpret ornithological data.Contribute to consultancy reports and ornithological assessment.Contribute to wider business development activityWhether you're a seasoned Ornithologist looking for a new challenge, or an experienced Ecologist looking to build on your ornithology and consulting expertise, you'll find no better team to join forces with!Location, Salary & Benefits:This role has the potential to be based at either the Glasgow or Edinburgh office, with the company offering very attractive hybrid and flexible working options including the option to WFH 3 days per week, and full-time or part-time (30 hours) options.Salary for this role is circa £28,500 - £48,000 per annum (dependent on experience), plus benefits including:Annual salary reviewsProfit-share bonus scheme25 days annual leave (plus Bank Holidays)Option to buy or sell extra holidayWork from home and field wear allowancesPension scheme with an ethical fundLife insurance at four times your annual salaryIncome protection insuranceHealth and self-care benefitsEmployee Assistance ProgrammeSeason ticket loans and CycleschemeAnnual paid volunteer dayFinancial and practical support for professional memberships and qualifications including Chartership and paid annual subscriptionsExcellent hybrid- and flexible working optionsAbout you:We are open to considering applicants at Consultant, Senior or Principal level for this role.You will need a minimum of 3 years post-qualifying Ornithology experience, or of general ecology / field survey experience with strong bird identification skills and fieldwork management experience within the energy generation and transmission sectors.You will need an enthusiasm for working outdoors, and a willingness to work antisocial hours, away from home and in inclement weather conditions, while working positively and collaboratively with team members.GIS, data management and 4x4 driving skills would be highly advantageous, as is knowledge of UK bird conservation priorities.
