Purpose Of Role:Connected Kerb is looking for an experienced Electrical Design Lead to join a thriving EV organisation to be a key part of the programme delivery of one of the UK’s leading and fastest growing EV charging infrastructure networks. The Electrical Design Lead is a critical role in Connected Kerb’s exciting and unprecedented expansion of EV charging infrastructure. Throughout the journey, the Electrical Design Lead will focus on advancing the detailed design, production, and coordination of comprehensive design packages for our external survey, design and build partners. as part of the unprecedented growth in the new EV market. This is an exciting and demanding role that will offer unique challenges and ability to grow and will offer unique opportunities for advancement in the fast-growing EV sector. Key Responsibilities:• Responsible for Health, Safety & Environment aspects across allocated projects including assurance of CDM and related activities.• Ensuring compliance with all current electrical legislation• Completing technical surveys and reports• Review electrical installation & electrical installation condition certification.• Responsible for supporting the Senior Delivery Managers, PMO & Construction Support team in the definition, estimation, planning and development of the projects through Work Package Order.• Preparation of electrical design drawings and specifications to use within installation stage.• Responsible for supporting Senior Delivery Managers in producing WPO Surveys and Designs are delivered to CK engineering specification/design standards and estimates are processed through governance processes.• Accountable for working with all Install Partners to ensure an appropriate risk and mitigation plan is in place for all Work Package Orders• Supporting DNO applications to be submitted by PM and overseeing the management of Independent Connection Provider (ICP) designs• Review and refine designs based on feedback from clients, engineers, and other team members, ensuring the final plans align with all project objectives. • Ensure CK’s Quality 3 Lines of Defence are adopted for quality across the delivery programme.• Evaluate the feasibility and address risk mitigation for EV projects, while delivering the most cost-effective and functionally optimized proposal.• Support the Delivery Team in procurement process to award packages of work to build partners.• Support both internal and external partners during the installation, testing and commissioning phase of projects.• Providing support to the Sales and Delivery teams across the wider businessRequirementsKey competencies/behaviours:Strategic Programme Leadership• Ability to define, shape and deliver infrastructure projects. • Experienced approach to influencing senior stakeholders. • Strong analytical skills;• Ability to provide authoritative risk-based advice, acting as a source for the resolution of unique or complex problems Accountability and Commitment• Client focused and able to manage counterparties at the heart of everything we do; • Commitment to collective decisions and team player mindset; • Has authority and responsibility for all aspects of a significant area of work, including policy formation and application. Performance and Development• Sets and communicates contribution expectations, metrics and outcomes for the team• Empowers and inspires team members to take stretch assignments• Delegates appropriately - monitors progress and provides support, resources and cover Execution and Results • Reinforces the Company’s purpose and how each person contributes to it • Focuses on identifying and championing integrated solutions for clients and stakeholders• Involves colleagues with the right expertise to optimise decision making Engineering & Innovation• Proven value engineering to overcome delivery issues• Thinks strategically to anticipate future trends and changing client needs• Systematises and continuously improves processes as we growQualifications, Skills and Experience:• Record in developing long term partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.• Relevant experience with electrical design software (such as ElectricalOM)• Understanding of electrical design development, coordination and planning• Relevant experience with AutoCAD (or similar design software)• DNO, IDNO or ICP experience• Experience in design and installation of electric vehicle charging equipment preferred • Understanding of CDM and the impact of project development and deployment• Create installation and construction documents and collaborate with relevant internal and external stakeholders as needed.• Electrical qualifications such as 18th Edition, 2391 or 2394 & 2395 City & Guilds.• Proficiency in 2396 Level 4 Electrical Design would be beneficial.• Experience in civils is desirable but not mandatory.
