We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Software Development Team Leader to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for leading, motivating, and mentoring a team of talented developers as they build high-quality software solutions. You will play a key delivery role, establishing technical direction, and ensuring releases are delivered on time with the highest quality, minimising defects.Responsibilities:Lead and manage a team of software developers:Set clear expectations and goals for the team.Assign tasks and delegate responsibilities effectively.Provide ongoing coaching, mentoring, and feedback to team members.Foster a collaborative and positive team environment.Drive continuous improvement in all aspects of the development processLead scrum ceremonies and support retrospective meetingsConduct performance reviews and identify opportunities for development. Technical leadership:Stay up-to-date on the latest software development trends and technologies within our domain.Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards.Identify areas where continuous improvement will benefit the product and delivery processes.Troubleshoot complex technical issues and find solutions Agile / Scrum / Project management:Work with stakeholders to understand requirements.Create and manage workload, plans and schedulesTrack progress, identify and mitigate risks.Communicate status to stakeholders effectively.Problem-solving and decision-making:Analyse complex problems and identify solutions.Make sound decisions based on technical expertise and business needs.Be adaptable and able to pivot when needed. Communication and collaboration:Communicate effectively with all levels of the organisation, both technical and non-technical.Collaborate with other teams, such as product, design, customer success, UAT.Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders.Experience & Relevant Qualifications:Successful applicants will possess a combination of these skills and experiences and be able to provide examples of these in action.Minimum of 5+ years of experience as a software developer.2+ years of experience in a team leadership role within a software development team.Experience of working cloud solutions, Azure, Google, AWS, Oracle.Strong technical skills in Java.Experience in Data Lake/Lakehouse Technologies, Hadoop, Hive, Snowflake, Databricks.Experience with Agile methodologies.Excellent Scrum skills - certified or experience.Ability to lead and motivate a team.Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Problem-solving and critical thinking skills.Location:SheffieldAbout CirataWe are a new company with over 45 patents and 15+ years of data science expertise.
