We also deliver government-funded programmes, providing employment opportunities, skills training, and support across the UK to British residents.Job Title: NCS FacilitatorLocation: EastbourneSalary: up to £700 per week inclusive of holiday pay accruedLeading a group of up to 10 young people through a 1-week residential NCS (National Citizen Service) programme. You will be working away from home at our Twin English Centre in Eastbourne. You will also provide overall supervisory support for 120 young people aged 15 – 17 years old, in collaboration with other facilitators, throughout the programme. You will stay onsite Monday to Friday with all meals, accommodation, and transport to and from residential venues provided.Ensuring the safety and pastoral needs of young people are met. Prepare and deliver inclusive and engaging sessions throughout the programme. Act as a role model, enthusiastically taking on challenges and supporting your team to do the same. NCS Facilitators should be passionate about young people and making a difference in their lives.RESPONSIBILITIESLead a team of up to 10 young people, from various social backgrounds, through the NCS programme, maintaining high levels of enthusiasm and engagement.Coach, support, and work closely with other Facilitators where suitable during the delivery of a set curriculum to groups of young people.Implement Health and Safety standards/procedures for each activity/event (including COVID-19 guidance) and ensuring that young people are aware of risks and follow all safety guidance throughoutAct as a role model, encouraging young people to develop inclusive and positive behaviour towards others, and address challenging behaviour in an effective way.Plan and deliver sessions to your team of young people, either face-to-face or via virtual means (if necessary) Ensure young people are engaging in activities by adapting session plans to individuals.Adhere to and actively ensure all policies and procedures are followed, and manage individuals who may not be following these, especially regarding safeguarding, consent, confidentiality, information sharing and data storage.Manage any incidents as they occur, ensuring the safety of others and reporting all incidents to the Wave Leader, completing any necessary documentation.Set and maintain appropriate professional boundaries with young people in your care and maintain adequate levels of participant discipline.Represent NCS goals and values effectively with stakeholders.Supervise participants during breaks, meal, free time, and night-time responsibilities.Adhere to the lights-out policy, and work with other staff to ensure the young people’s safety during the night.Attend staff meetings and training events, and complete NCS online modules as required.Undertake all programme administration duties as required for example, registers and incident reports.Any other duties as required by the role.The above is not an exhaustive list of duties and you will be required to undertake such tasks as may reasonably be expected within the scope of this post.QUALIFICATIONSEssentialEducated to GCSE levelDesirableA qualification in youth workA current First Aid qualificationPlease Note: The successful candidate must be able to work in the UK.
