If you have a passionate commitment to the educational journey of students with complex needs, this role is tailored just for you.Your Role and Responsibilities:As a PMLD Teaching Assistant, your responsibilities include: Providing one-on-one support personalized to meet the unique requirements of students with profound and multiple learning disabilities.Collaborating with the class teacher and PMLD specialists to create and implement individual education plans (IEPs) and behavior management strategies.Assisting students in their daily living activities, including personal care, feeding, toileting, and mobility assistance, ensuring their safety and overall well-being.Cultivating a positive and inclusive learning environment that actively promotes independence, communication, and social development.Working closely with the class teacher and interdisciplinary team to continually assess progress, dynamically adjusting instructional approaches to address individual needs.Facilitating the use of specialized equipment and resources, including sensory tools and communication aids.Building strong connections with parents and caregivers, maintaining transparent and open channels of communication. Requirements:We are looking for candidates who have: Proven experience in a role involving the support of individuals with profound and multiple learning disabilities, preferably within an educational or care setting.In-depth knowledge and understanding of various PMLD conditions and a diverse range of associated support strategies.Exceptional communication skills, demonstrating the ability to adapt communication methods to meet the unique needs of each student.Genuine compassion, patience, and empathy, with a steadfast commitment to supporting students with complex needs.Flexibility and adaptability, as the role may entail working with students across different age groups and abilities.A valid enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check or a willingness to obtain one.Relevant qualifications, such as CACHE Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent.
