Job Description: SEND Teaching Assistant Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant Location: Hillingdon, Greater London, EnglandJob Type: Contract - Full-TimePrimary Industry: Education and TrainingSecondary Industry: Social ServicesSalary: £80 - £95 Per dayBenefits: Plus CPD (Continuing Professional Development)Job Duties: Supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in their educational and social developmentAssisting the class teacher in planning and delivering differentiated lessons to meet individual needsProviding one-on-one support to students with specific learning difficultiesImplementing strategies to promote inclusion and participation of students with SENDHelping students with communication and language difficulties, including the use of British Sign Language (BSL) if requiredAssisting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in managing their behaviour and emotional well-beingSupporting students during educational outings and extracurricular activitiesCollaborating with the school's SEND coordinator and other professionals to develop individual education plansProviding feedback to the class teacher on student progress and highlighting any concerns or issuesCreating a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students Required Qualifications: Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalentRelevant certification or training in supporting students with SEND Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skills: Prior experience working as a Teaching Assistant, preferably in a SEND settingGood understanding of various special educational needs and disabilitiesKnowledge of strategies and interventions to support students with SENDFamiliarity with British Sign Language (BSL) is highly desirableAbility to effectively communicate and build rapport with students, teachers, and parentsStrong organisational and time management skillsPatience, empathy, and a passion for supporting students with SEND Preferred Qualifications: Higher education qualification in Education or a related fieldAdditional training or certification in British Sign Language (BSL) Working Conditions: Working hours: Full-time, Monday to FridayContract duration: As specified in the contractWork environment: School setting, primarily within classrooms and other educational spacesMay involve physical activities such as assisting students with mobility, lifting, or supporting students with physical disabilities Please send in your up to date CV if you are looking for long term roles in HOUNSLOW Schools as a SEND TA.All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role.
