Job Description Fixed term role until June 2025 Curating news and video content for upday’s mobile app and website from a diverse set of publishers and broadcasters Writing your own breaking news articles, explainers, and features Issue push notifications to upday users in line with editorial guidelines Skilled in using social media to promote content Comfortable using SEO techniques to optimise content Using your journalistic skills across a wide range of subject areas, including breaking news, politics, entertainment, and sport Our ideal candidate: Is a journalist with impeccable fact-checking and verification skills Has excellent news judgment and strong knowledge of UK media law Writes first-rate copy and creates stand-out headlines Lives and breathes UK news and current affairs Is a social media native and passionate about journalism Has some experience working in a fast-paced breaking news environment Please note This role requires a combination of daytime/evening/weekend work and is a hybrid role with home-based shifts and office days in London.
