The business are looking for Technical Architect - Spacecraft Systems that will be central in making a difference every day by ensuring the architecture is in place to drive forward our missions and help to make space safer and more sustainable for future generations.As a Technical Architect you will be the right hand of the Engineering Director and take ownership of a number of delegated responsibility to ensure that the business unit delivers on time, and with ambition.Our client are renowned on being a friendly, welcoming and diverse team and work in cutting edge missions in the ever evolving Space industry.ResponsibilitiesTechnical decisions for projectsReceives the Engineering Director’s delegation of authority in relation to technical decisionsIs the technical reviewer for their field of specialism across each of the engineering domainsIs the key referent/ first point of contact in case of technical queries that cannot be managed by the respective teamsProblem resolutionWorks across the engineering teams to ensure problems are managed from identification through to resolution. Help resolve technical problems as and when they ariseAnalyses issues breaking them down into smaller manageable partsProject & technical development reviewsOversees the technical development and implementation of assigned programs in the relevant project reviews, and guides teamsEngineering processes and proceduresEnsures quality of standards and procedures across engineering; defining, mapping and proposing processes and procedures Essential SkillsUndergraduate engineering degree in an associated field.Extensive experience in the development & design of spacecraft systemsExperience at spacecraft level in a systems architecture rolesAt least 10-15+ years’ experience in their areas of expertiseExperience working with businesses delivering long-term complex projects and programmesAnalytically excellentExcellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability to influence at all levelsResilience, passion for resultsCurious, problem-solving skills, challenges the status quoPrinciples led and impeccable work ethic If this position sounds of interest and you would like to learn more, please contact Eugene at eugene.mcintyre@impeltalent.com.
