Westlakes Recruit are currently recruiting for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer ideally with a background in the Nuclear, Defence or other highly regulated sector, to be engaged on a permanent basis, with hybrid working and based in Motherwell, Scotland. What You'll Be Doing As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will have the following responsibilities: Design LV electrical distribution systems Create the following documentation: Specifications & Datasheets Cable Calculations & Schedules Drawings (via CAD team) Review and check manufacturer documentation/information for compliance with project specifications Develop and maintain relationships with relevant technical consultants and suppliers Who We're Looking For Qualities and Experience (Essential): Proficient in Trimble (Amtech) ProDesign Clear focus on collaboration and building relationships with other designers and project teams to deliver cost-effective and acceptable design solutions Ability to communicate effectively at all levels and write clearly and succinctly Promote innovation and continuous improvement in design Excellent IT skills are desirable Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint Detailed knowledge of codes of practice and other regulatory material Experience in a broad range of heavy industries such as: Petrochemical Power Generation Renewables Nuclear Beneficial Experience: Design of HV electrical systems Use of AutoCAD and/or Revit software Use of Dialux or Relux software Use of SKM, ETAP, Digsilent, PSCAD software Design of ATEX systems Why We're Different: Westlakes Recruit are a people solutions business that understands the complexities of nuclear and the importance of our clients' mission critical objectives.Smarter, faster, more agile - we have a laser focus on nuclear, with deep sectoral knowledge.We develop nuclear talent pools before you know you need them!
