Do you thrive in environments where creativity, compassion, and structure go hand in hand?We’re looking for a qualified Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teacher to join a welcoming, well-resourced specialist school in Bolton, supporting students aged 11–16 with complex needs including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), and other associated conditions. Students with a diagnosis of Autism that affects communication, social interaction, or sensory processing
Experience severe or moderate learning difficulties
Have additional needs such as ADHD, speech and language difficulties, anxiety, or behaviour that challenges
Above all, they are students with potential — and we're looking for teachers who focus on their abilities, not just their needs.What does the role involve? As an SEN Teacher, your responsibilities will include:
Leading a small class with the support of experienced teaching assistants
Planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to EHCPs
Creating a calm, structured, and inclusive classroom environment
Using a variety of communication and learning strategies (e.g., visuals, routines, sensory tools)
Working closely with therapists, SENCOs, and families to support holistic development
Tracking and assessing student progress, adapting planning as needed
Contributing to a positive, collaborative school culture
What do you need to apply?
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential
Experience in SEN settings
Strong behaviour management and a flexible, child-centred approach
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team
A genuine interest in helping young people with complex needs thrive
