Our client is seeking a motivated and qualified solicitor to join their highly regarded Court of Protection team. In this role, you will manage a caseload of welfare matters within the Court of Protection team, working closely with vulnerable clients and their families. Your responsibilities will include:Preparing witness statements and instructions to expertsBriefing counsel and attending court hearingsManaging client meetings and case documentationProviding advice on matters arising from the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and Court of Protection proceduresSupporting marketing efforts to raise the firm’s profile and expand the client baseYou will receive a comprehensive induction and support from a designated supervisor, with opportunities for continuous professional development, including working towards supervisor status or obtaining Law Society accreditations where applicable.RequirementsQualified solicitor or Legal Executive (CILEX), with experience at a newly qualified level or aboveSolid understanding of the Mental Capacity Act 2005, Court of Protection procedures, and legal aid contract requirementsAbility to manage a caseload independently, with strong time management and organizational skillsExperience working with vulnerable clients and a compassionate approach to client careStrong verbal and written communication skillsDesirable:Law Society Mental Capacity (Welfare) AccreditationExperience of meeting the Legal Aid Agency’s supervisor status in mental health lawExperience in community care work or judicial reviewAdvocacy experienceA valid driving licenceBenefits25 days of annual leaveEnhanced maternity, paternity, and adoption leave payEnhanced sick leave payBirthday leaveMiscarriage and enhanced child bereavement leave payPaid volunteering time offFlexible working options (office and home working)
