Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant (Long-Term Supply with Temp-to-Perm Potential)Location: Blackpool, LancashireStart Date: ASAPContract: Full-Time, Term-Time OnlyPay Rate: £13.75 - £14.50 per hour The Role: We are recruiting for a committed and nurturing SEMH Teaching Assistant to support pupils in a dedicated SEMH school setting. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a passion for helping young learners overcome barriers related to Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs. Your Responsibilities: Support pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis with SEMH needs.Assist in implementing individual education and behaviour plans.Foster a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment.Encourage emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies.Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and outside professionals.Track and report progress and behaviours effectively. Who We’re Looking For: Experience supporting children and/or young adults with SEMH or challenging behaviour.A calm, patient, and empathetic approach.Strong communication and de-escalation skills.Passion for working with vulnerable or at-risk children.Relevant qualifications are desirable but not essential.
