We are currently looking for general operatives to join a busy recycling centre on an ad-hoc basis. This role offers flexibility and is ideal for those who are looking for work as and when required, rather than a full-time permanent position.The main purpose of the role is to support the site in achieving a higher quality of recycling by helping to sort commercial waste. As part of the team, you will play a key role in improving recycling efficiency.Responsibilities include: Picking recyclable items from a moving conveyor belt and segregating materials General housekeeping and cleaning duties at the end of each shift Assisting on the yard with general tasks Potential opportunity for future training on machinery and forklifts (for those interested and available for longer-term roles) Please note: The environment can be dusty, but face masks are provided before every shift.Requirements Perform general labour tasks as assigned by the supervisor Assist with the setup and operation of machinery and equipment Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work area Load and unload materials from trucks or conveyors Sort and package products according to specifications Inspect products for defects or damages Maintain accurate records of production and inventory Collaborate with team members to meet production goals Key Skills: Ability to follow instructions and work independently or in a team Strong attention to detail Good physical stamina and ability to perform repetitive tasks Basic math skills for counting and sorting materials Good communication skills If you're reliable, safety-conscious, and happy to work on an ad-hoc basis, we’d love to hear from you!
