We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Hillingdon to assist with the appointment of a Transport Officer, on a 3-month contract, likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration. Rate of Pay: £18.80 - £24.78 per hour Summary: To manage the day to day operation of passenger transport for SEN and ASC transport. Ensure effective management of available resources to deliver a timely and efficient passenger transport service. To ensure that individuals are supported to travel as independently as possible and all transport provided is delivered with to ensure the comfort, safety, dignity and wellbeing of passengers is maintained at all times. Responsibilities: Ensure that staff, vehicles and service delivery attain the highest professional standards, and that all aspects of transport operations are safe, legal, cost-effective and focussed on the needs of passengers, clients and service commissioners.To be responsible for the selection, development and performance of a team of passenger assistants in line with the Councils HR policiesManage LBH Passenger Assistants utilised for the movement of passengers for ASC and SEN and for the LBH courier service, including daily resource management to ensure planned and unplanned absence does not impact on service delivery.Be the principal operations and monitoring officer (in conjunction with other post holders) for passenger transport, both SEN and ASC.Ensure that transport is provided efficiently and effectively, in particular dealing with day to day variations in passenger demand, including the quotation/negotiation process with operations for route changes. Qualifications:Educated to GCSE standard in English and Maths Experience Required: Experience of working with vulnerable clients, either adults or children, their families and carers, and understanding their transport needsExperience of commissioning passenger transport services to meet the specific needs of vulnerable clientsExperience of working within a contract to ensure specification standard are met and that service delivery is fully compliantExperience of managing finance within a defined budget, and producing management & performance reports Knowledge and Skills: Ability to organise and prioritise work, and operate with a high degree of accuracy and consistency in a fast paced environmentEnthusiasm, flexibility and the ability to work effectively to deadlines, demonstrating the ability to work both individually and as part of a cohesive team.Knowledge of personal budget principles and practices, and the underlying education/social care frameworkAbility to respond to short notice changes and to ensure service continuity in adverse situations Please note: You should be available to work immediately or at a short notice.
