Do you have strong communication skills and a caring, patient attitude?GSL Education are seeking a committed and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our SEN school in Southgate, Enfield. This full-time, long-term position offers an immediate start and the potential for a permanent role for the right candidate.As an SEN TA, you will play a vital role in helping students access learning and achieve their full potential. You will work closely with teaching staff and SENCOs to provide personalised support to students with a variety of additional needs, including Autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional, and mental health needs (SEMH).This role is ideal for someone who is dedicated, reliable, and eager to make a real difference in the lives of young learners.SEN TA Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with SEN across all Key StagesAssist in the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs)Promote a safe, stimulating, and supportive learning environmentHelp students manage their behaviour and develop social skillsCollaborate with teachers, therapists, and parents to monitor progressSupport students with personal care, if requiredEncourage independence and confidence in learning and daily activitiesPrepare learning resources and adapt materials to meet individual needsRecord observations and contribute to student progress reviewsUphold the school’s values and commitment to inclusive education
Requirements for SEN Teaching Assistant role:
Previous experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs as an SEN Teaching Assistant or similarCACHE Level 2/3 or NVQ Level 2/3 in Teaching Assistant or ChildcareA degree in Psychology, SEN, Counselling, Education or a similar fieldGood spoken and written EnglishA patient, nurturing, and empathetic approachAbility to work well as part of a team and on your own initiativeWillingness to support students with personal care, where necessaryEnhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for a new oneRight to work in the UK
