A fantastic primary school in Ealing is seeking a dedicated Assistant SENCO to support statutory assessment applications for the Autumn Term, starting 1st September 2025.
This is a unique opportunity to lend your expertise in a strategic and highly valued role - approximately 1 day per week or fortnight, depending on workload.
Your Role as Assistant SENCO in Ealing:
As the Assistant SENCO, your core focus will be supporting the SENCO in completing statutory assessment applications. This is a short-term, high-impact role requiring precision, insight, and a strong working knowledge of SEND processes within the London Borough of Ealing.
Your responsibilities will include:
Supporting the preparation and submission of high-quality statutory assessment requests.
Reviewing and collating documentation in line with EHC needs assessment criteria.
Liaising with teachers, parents, and external agencies to gather evidence and provide professional input.
Advising staff on provision mapping and ensuring best practice in SEND support planning.
Who We're Looking For:
We are seeking an Assistant SENCO who:
Has previous experience with statutory assessments and EHCP applications in a school setting - essential.
Ideally has worked within or alongside Ealing Local Authority and is familiar with their processes.
Is confident managing documentation, timelines, and consultation requirements.
Has excellent communication and organisational skills, and can work independently.
This position is perfect for:
Current or former SENCOs looking for part-time, flexible consultancy-style work.
SEN professionals with leadership experience in SEND, looking to apply their skills in a more targeted support role.
