The role involves supporting the Head of Department in leading and managing a dynamic and diverse Science department, raising attainment and developing innovative teaching practices across Key Stages 3 and 4. Key Responsibilities Support the Head of Department in leading the Science curriculum, including planning, assessment, and curriculum developmentContribute to improving standards of teaching and learning across the departmentProvide mentoring and support to colleagues, including ECTs and support staffMonitor and track student progress, implementing interventions to raise attainmentLead by example in delivering high-quality, engaging science lessonsContribute to whole-school initiatives, CPD, and academic development Assignment Details Full-time position, Monday to Friday (Term time only)Start date: September 2025Long-term / Permanent PostExcellent facilities and strong leadership support Person SpecificationQualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential Experience teaching Science to GCSE level (A-level desirable)Previous experience of middle leadership or departmental responsibilityStrong classroom practitioner with high expectationsPassion for science education and driving student progressA current DBS on the update service or willingness to apply through Connex Why Join Connex Education?
