3 months contract with a local authority Job PurposeSupport the Team Leader in ensuring that the core functions of the team operate to a good standard, are effective in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people leaving care. To assist with the operational management of the team and take forward the implementation of new initiatives alongside the Team Leader.Key Duties/AccountabilitiesProvide day to day direction to and co-ordination of staff working in the Assessment and Support TeamsProvide increased managerial oversight on cases to ensure allocations and statutory assessments are both timely and proportionate to identified riskSupport the Team Leader in ensuring that the core functions of the team operate to a good quality and are effective in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of childrenAllocate work, agree targets, monitor and implement training programmes and generally develop and motivate staff to perform effectivelySet standards and priorities for the team, promoting quality management standards and the effective implementation and monitoring of standards, policies and proceduresProvide supervision and take line management responsibility for up to 2 qualified social workersEssential Experience RequiredSignificant experience in children's social work including looked after children and child protection is essentialQualified Social worker with significant experience is essentialExperience of using quality assurance, audit systems and processes to analyse the quality of the service is essentialEssential Qualification RequiredBeing a qualified Social Worker (SWE registered) is essentialAdditional information to noteWorking hours: 35 hours per weekThe role requires a DBS checkRequirementsRequirementsSignificant experience in children's social workQualified Social Worker (SWE registered)Experience of using quality assurance, audit systems and processes
