Housing Litigation Solicitor London Borough Council Contract: 3-6 months - likely to be extended Rate: £50-£60 per hour - Negotiable DOE Flexible Hybrid Working A London Borough Council is seeking a skilled and motivated Housing Litigation Solicitor to join their Legal Services team. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a high-performing local authority, supporting vital housing litigation and advisory work that directly impacts our residents and communities. Key Responsibilities Take over and manage a live caseload of 50+ complex housing litigation matters Provide clear, practical legal advice to internal clients. Represent the council in court proceedings and liaise with counsel where necessary. Draft legal documents and correspondence. Respond to new instructions efficiently and support the wider team during high-demand periods. Key Requirements Qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive (ICLEX or Law Society membership essential). Strong experience in housing law, particularly possession and ASB litigation. Ability to manage a high-volume caseload independently. Excellent communication, drafting, and advocacy skills. A proactive, solution-focused approach to legal problem-solving.
