DescriptionST EDMUND’S CATHOLIC SCHOOL, PORTSMOUTH 11-16 Mixed VA School St Edmund’s is a popular Voluntary Aided secondary school in the heart of Portsmouth and serves a wide area. It is an Outstanding school (Ofsted 2016 and 2022) serving a diverse population. The Governors are seeking to appoint to the following post: Teaching Assistant (REF: TA25) 28 hours 45 minutes per week, Term Time Only 8.30am to 3.15pm (Monday to Friday) Pay Band 4-5 Depending on Experience £24,420 - £27,363 FTE (Pro Rata £16,457.16 - £18,440.51) We would also consider hours of work 9am/9.30am start with a 3pm/3.30pm finish (depending on the candidate). Start Date: September 2025 The successful candidate will be caring and enthusiastic and will have a genuine commitment to supporting the academic progress of pupils aged 11-16. The candidate will be part of the Learning Support Department and will work with pupils with Special Educational Needs and/or disabilities and also with VI (Visually Impaired) students. The candidate must be educated to at least GCSE level. The successful candidate will also be required to undertake administrative duties as directed by the SENCO. The role is term time only.
