A School in Essex is seeking a reliable and proactive Caretaker to support the upkeep and safety of the school premises.You'll work as part of the wider site team to maintain a clean, secure, and well-functioning school environment.This role is part-time, permanent (37 hours/week, afternoons), and starts immediately. Key Responsibilities Unlocking and locking the site for afternoon activitiesPerforming routine maintenance and minor repairsHealth & safety checks including fire alarm testingEnsuring safe access during adverse weather (e.g., gritting)Coordinating with contractors for onsite workSupporting evening school functions or lettings where neededMaintaining stock of supplies and equipment Who We're Looking For Previous caretaking/site maintenance experience (desirable)Friendly and supportive team environmentModern and well-resourced siteOpportunity to make a real impact in a specialist settingOngoing training and development Please note: This is a non-teaching role; pay information listed may require clarification from the school.School Staff Direct and our partner school are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.All applicants must have the right to work in the UK.
