A respected and growing steelwork contractor in London is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented individual to lead their drawing office team. Key Responsibilities: Manage and oversee a team of detailers and draughtspeople to ensure high-quality drawings are produced on time and within project scope. Coordinate closely with the contracts, fabrication, and design teams to deliver accurate and buildable models and drawings. Ensure drawings are compliant with client specifications, engineering calculations, and industry standards. Maintain drawing office workflows, allocate work effectively, and provide technical guidance to team members. Liaise with clients, structural engineers, and architects to resolve queries and maintain smooth project delivery. Implement and uphold best practices for drawing production, version control, and BIM coordination. Requirements: Proven experience in a drawing office management or senior detailing role within the structural steel industry. Proficient with 3D modelling software such as Tekla Structures, AutoCAD, or similar. Strong leadership, organisation, and communication skills. Thorough understanding of fabrication and erection processes related to steel structures. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines. Desirable: Formal qualifications in engineering, design, or construction-related disciplines. Knowledge of BIM and digital construction workflows.
