3 Months Contract with a local authorityJob PurposeThe Employee Relations Manager will be responsible for managing the delivery of a customer-focused professional employee relations (ER) service within a local authority. This role involves overseeing and undertaking employee relations casework, monitoring the effectiveness of employment policies, and providing clear and professional advice and guidance to support services.Key Duties/AccountabilitiesMonitor the effectiveness of employment policies and casework managementFacilitate informal resolution of disputesInfluence delivery from shared service operations to meet the local authority's requirementsImprove governance and central management of terms and conditions and contractsOversee and undertake casework, including attending hearings related to workforce issues such as sickness absence and mental healthHighlight risks of employment tribunal claims and financial exposure, and work on developing business casesDevelop services to improve efficiency and streamline work for data team and training complianceImprove inbox management and reduce reactive and unnecessary queriesEssential Experience RequiredSignificant experience and in-depth understanding of people management, organizational development, and employee relations casework managementEssential Qualification RequiredChartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) or equivalent qualification and/or evidence of equivalent knowledge and experienceAdditional InformationWorking hours: 36 hours per weekThe role closes soon, please apply ASAP.RequirementsRequirementsSignificant experience and understanding of people management and organizational developmentChartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) or equivalent qualification
