SEN Teaching Assistant – Resource Base (Secondary School) – Southampton Are you passionate about supporting young people with special educational needs? These students have a range of additional needs, particularly linked to speech, language, and communication. You’ll work alongside specialist staff to deliver tailored support, helping pupils access learning, build confidence, and develop independence.Key Responsibilities: Provide targeted support to students with SEN, including speech and language needsDeliver small-group or one-to-one interventions as directed by the SENCOHelp students engage in classroom learning and promote positive behaviourWork collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other support staffContribute to EHCP reviews and maintain accurate progress records The Ideal Candidate: Previous experience supporting children with SEN, particularly speech and language difficultiesA caring, patient, and resilient approach to supporting learning and wellbeingStrong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationshipsRelevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, Speech & Language qualification) are desirable but not essentialA genuine desire to make a difference in the lives of young people Why GSL Education?At GSL Education, we’re proud to be renowned for helping educators find their perfect role.
