Full-Time SEN Teaching Assistant (Learning Support Assistant) - HaveringAre you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of children with special educational needs?A friendly and inclusive primary school in Havering is seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant (Learning Support Assistant) to join their supportive team on a full-time basis. This role is ideal for someone who is proactive, compassionate, and experienced in working with children who have SEN, including Autism (ASD), ADHD, speech and language delays, and other additional learning needs.Key Responsibilities:Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with special educational needs, ensuring their specific learning goals are met.Collaborate closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement tailored strategies and differentiated activities.Encourage social, emotional, and academic development by promoting confidence and independence.Support positive behaviour and engagement using a nurturing, trauma-informed approach.Adapt learning materials and environments to suit pupils' needs.Contribute to assessments, progress reviews, and behaviour support plans.Requirements:Minimum 6 months experience supporting children with SEN in a primary or specialist school setting (essential).Experience with EHCPs, behaviour management plans, or specific interventions (e.g., PECs, Makaton, sensory strategies) is highly desirable.A calm, patient, and empathetic approach, with a genuine passion for inclusive education.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.A current Enhanced DBS certificate on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).Why Join This School?Join a school that values inclusion, collaboration, and pupil wellbeing.Ongoing CPD and SEN training opportunities through our partnership with Sugarman Education.Work in a nurturing environment where your contribution is truly valued.Ideal for experienced SEN TAs looking for long-term, full-time stability and professional growth.
