Kind Regards, SEN Teaching Assistant Salary/Rate: £24,500 - £26,000 Contract: Permanent , Temp to Perm Location: Halifax Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm Leader Group are working in partnership with a SEN School based in Halifax. We are recruiting for an experienced Teaching Assistant to work in a specialist SEN school, providing educational support to students aged 7 - 18. You will have previous experience of working with students with SEMH needs - social, emotional and mental health issues (previously known as BESD, SEBD & EBD). You will have excellent behaviour management skills as well as patience, empathy and understanding. THE JOB: · You will be required to provide either one to one support or small group support to learners with SEMH needs · Comply with individual EHC Plans · To take direction from the class teacher and help support YOU: · You must be an experienced classroom support assistant with a good level of experience of working with students with SEMH needs · Be patient and resilient · Be creative · Make learning fun · Excellent communication skills · Have a therapeutic and holistic approach · Team Teach trained would be advantageous, although training can be given.
