Job Title: Product LeadRole Summary:We are seeking a strategic and user-centred Product Lead to drive the vision, development, and continuous improvement of a digital product with significant data, integration, and accessibility requirements. The successful candidate will work closely with design, research, engineering, and delivery colleagues to ensure the product meets the needs of its diverse user base while aligning with technical feasibility and organisational objectives.RequirementsKey Responsibilities1. Product Vision and RoadmapDefine and own the end-to-end product strategy and roadmap in collaboration with internal stakeholders.Translate complex user needs and organisational goals into a clear, iterative delivery plan.Continuously refine the product vision based on research insights, feedback, technical constraints, and service objectives.2. Backlog Management and PrioritisationMaintain a clear, transparent, and prioritised product backlog with well-defined epics and user stories.Facilitate sprint planning sessions, backlog grooming, and reviews to ensure alignment with delivery goals.Use data, research, and stakeholder input to evaluate feature value and make prioritisation decisions.3. Stakeholder Engagement and AlignmentEngage regularly with cross-sector stakeholders to gather feedback, validate assumptions, and manage expectations.Act as the primary point of contact for product-related decisions, balancing user needs, technical constraints, and business priorities.Champion the voice of the user while working within a regulated, data-sensitive environment.4. Cross-Functional CollaborationCollaborate closely with the Delivery Manager, Technical Architect, User Researcher, and Service Designer to ensure coherent service design and efficient delivery.Ensure technical feasibility and alignment of product features with integration, accessibility, and performance requirements.Facilitate design and discovery workshops, and contribute actively to agile ceremonies.5. Continuous Improvement and Service EvolutionUse qualitative and quantitative data to monitor product usage, satisfaction, and performance.Identify areas for optimisation and manage iterative improvements throughout the product lifecycle.Support the preparation of transition plans to public/live service phases.Essential Skills and ExperienceDemonstrated experience in a Product Lead or Senior Product Manager role, ideally for a data-driven, user-facing digital service.Experience working in Agile environments, with hands-on involvement in sprint planning, backlog refinement, and user story writing.Strong stakeholder management skills, with a track record of aligning product development across diverse and sometimes conflicting priorities.Deep understanding of user-centred design practices, and ability to work effectively with researchers and designers.Familiarity with accessibility, data quality, and service assurance principles.Proven ability to manage complex product ecosystems involving integrations, user authentication, and structured data workflows.Desirable ExperienceExperience in regulated industries such as healthcare, life sciences, or government digital services.Understanding of metadata standards, product catalogues, or supply chain/procurement information systems.Exposure to platforms requiring role-based access, auditability, and compliance with data protection standards.Experience coordinating with third-party data providers, APIs, or open data sources.Preferred Certifications (Desirable, Not Mandatory)Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), SAFe Product Manager/Product Owner, or equivalent.Microsoft Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900) or equivalent cloud knowledge certification.Familiarity with Government Digital Service (GDS) standards or NHS Service Manual.
