GSL Education are currently seeking enthusiastic and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistants to work across primary schools in Grimsby. These roles are perfect for those with experience supporting children with a range of special educational needs, including Autism, ADHD, learning difficulties, and communication challenges. As a SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA), you will be a vital part of the school community, working closely with teachers and the SEN team to ensure that every child receives the tailored support they need to succeed academically and socially.Whether you’re looking for consistent long-term work or flexible day-to-day opportunities, we’d love to hear from you.Special Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 or small group support to pupils with SENAssist in delivering and adapting classroom tasks and learning resourcesHelp implement IEP and EHCP targetsEncourage engagement, independence, and confidence in pupilsSupport positive behaviour and emotional regulation strategiesCollaborate with teaching staff and external professionalsMonitor and report on student progress and developmentContribute to creating an inclusive and nurturing learning environmentDeliver intervention sessions where requiredEnsure safeguarding policies are consistently followed
SEN Teaching Assistant Requirements:
Previous experience supporting children with SEN, ideally in a school or care setting as a SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) or similarRelevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3) are desirable but not essentialA degree in Psychology, SEN, Counselling or a similar field.Ability to stay calm, supportive, and flexible under pressureAwareness of a range of SEN needs and classroom strategiesStrong interpersonal and communication skillsA genuine passion for supporting the development of young learnersHave an updated CV and an Enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or willingness to apply)
