Location: Tower Hamlets, East London Position: Maths Teacher (KS3–KS4, with potential for KS5) Contract: Permanent, full-time Start Date: September 2025 Salary: MPS/UPS (Inner London) – £36,745 to £56,959A thriving and inclusive secondary school in Tower Hamlets is seeking to appoint a Maths Teacher to join their established department from September. With excellent transport links and modern facilities, the school provides an ideal environment for both early career and experienced teachers to thrive.As part of a well-resourced and forward-thinking maths faculty, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, differentiated lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4. There is scope to teach Key Stage 5 for those with A-level experience or a desire to develop in this area. The department benefits from strong leadership, regular collaborative planning time, and a focus on mastery-based teaching.Key responsibilities:
Plan and deliver engaging and well-structured lessons aligned with the national curriculum
Assess and monitor pupil progress, identifying and addressing gaps in understanding
Contribute to curriculum development and departmental improvement initiatives
Support students of all abilities to build confidence and achieve strong outcomes in maths
Take an active role in the wider life of the school, including clubs or intervention programmes
The successful candidate will:
Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree in Mathematics or a related subject
Demonstrate strong subject knowledge and a sound understanding of effective pedagogy
Be committed to high expectations, both for pupils and their own professional development
Show the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues and families
Ideally have experience teaching in an urban secondary school setting, although this is not essential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
