As a higher-level teaching assistant, you will complement the professional work of teachers by taking on responsibilities for various learning activities under an agreed system of supervision, this role offers a fulfilling opportunity to contribute to students' and your own progress and development.Key Responsibilities: Supervise and support students across various year groups in the absence of their regular class teachersDeliver pre-prepared lesson plans and support students with their learning activitiesProvide additional support to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), ensuring inclusion and accessibilityHelp manage classroom behaviour, ensuring a positive and productive learning environmentProvide targeted support to individuals or small groups of students, addressing their specific academic and emotional needs.Liaise with teachers and other support staff to ensure continuity in students' learningAssist with assessments and record keeping as requiredHelp organise and support extra-curricular activities and school events The ideal candidate: QTS (Qualified Teacher Status), relevant degree (usually a bachelor’s in education or a subject related to the one you’ll teach)Experience working with children in an educational setting (as a HLTA, Teaching Assistant, or Cover Supervisor)Strong understanding of the primary or secondary school curriculum and child developmentExperience supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) is highly desirableExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsA positive, flexible, and proactive approach to supporting studentsCapability to work collaboratively with the SENCO and teachers to implement education plansKnowledge of maintaining accurate records and reporting student progressSafeguarding training (or willingness to complete)Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one) Why Teaching Personnel: Flexible working optionOngoing support and CPD such as thrive courses and team teachingPersonal consultant (1:1)Expansive school networkTeaching personnel is the UK’s leading education recruitment agency If you’re passionate about teaching and ready for your next career step, apply now with your up-to-date CV, we would love to hear from you!
