As part of our continued commitment to inclusive, trauma-informed education, we are seeking two outstanding Teaching Assistants to join our dynamic, caring and experienced team.The school is a vibrant and nurturing community special school for pupils aged 10–16, all of whom have an EHCP and a range of complex needs, including SEMH, Autism, ADHD and associated communication and learning difficulties.We have 2 Teaching Assistant roles available:Role 1: 1:2:1 Teaching Assistant – Specialist SupportThis post involves working closely with a pupil who requires a robust, calm and emotionally intelligent adult to help them access learning in a safe and structured way. The role includes a blend of:
1:2:1 support for a strong-willed pupil who may present with physical aggression;Small group work within or outside of class;Emotional regulation support and positive behaviour management.
Essential skills and experience:
Proven experience working in special education, especially with SEMH or ASD pupils;Confidence in managing challenging behaviours with empathy and consistency;A resilient, reflective and team-oriented approach.
Role 2: Classroom-Based Teaching Assistant – General SupportThis role involves working flexibly across our school to support pupils in class-based and small group settings. You’ll collaborate with teachers, therapists and pastoral staff to provide:
Support for learning, communication and engagement;Tailored interventions matched to pupils’ EHCP outcomes;Contribution to classroom routines, transitions and enrichment activities.
Essential skills and experience:
Experience supporting children or young people with additional needs;Adaptability, a positive attitude and a strong team ethic;A desire to make a lasting difference in pupils’ lives.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
