If so, we want you to join our dedicated team at an excellent Client Secondary School in Scarborough, North Yorkshire, to join asa Teaching Assistant, starting in September 2025.About the School: The school is committed to helping students between the ages of 8 and 16 who struggle with mental, emotional, and social health concerns.They are dedicated to assisting every student in utilising and succeeding in academic and career-related learning opportunities.The school places high priority on helping students learn self-regulation so they can control their emotions, behaviours, and reactions in a healthy and flexible way.They also emphasise the development of self-reflection, helping students assess their decisions, behaviours, and experiences and apply this knowledge to develop and get better.The school fosters equality by promptly addressing every instance of bullying, racial abuse, sexism, and homophobia, as well as by teaching students under their supervision with empathy and without bias. Teaching Assistant Responsibilities: Provide targeted support to students with Special Educational Needs, working 1:1 or in small group.Assist students in accessing the full curriculum.Create and adapt learning materials that cater to the diverse needs of SEN students.Track and assess student progress, providing regular feedback to teachers, the Inclusion team, and parents to inform future planning.Engage in ongoing professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in education and SEN support. Teaching Assistant Requirements: Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning).Proven experience working with SEN students, preferably within a secondary school setting.Strong ability to work collaboratively with teaching staff, the Inclusion team, and other professionals to create a supportive and effective learning environment.A creative and energetic approach that engages and inspires students.Hold an Enhanced DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for a new one.
