SEND Teaching Assistant – Specialist Setting (Full-Time, Fixed-Term)Location: Chelmsford Salary: £450 - £525 per day (depending on experience) Contract: Full Time, Long Term Supply Start Date: September 2025 Applicants must have the right to work in the UKAbout the RoleConnex Education is working with a specialist education setting in the Chelmsford area to recruit a SEND Teaching Assistant for full time long term supply position starting in September. This welcoming and inclusive setting supports children and young people with moderate learning difficulties (MLD), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and a range of associated social, emotional, and communication needs. The school promotes a nurturing environment, placing strong emphasis on life skills, emotional development, and positive relationships alongside academic progress.This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of pupils with additional needs and who thrives in a calm, supportive, and structured environment.Key Responsibilities Provide individual and small group support to pupils with SEND across the school dayAssist with the delivery of differentiated learning activities and personal development programmesHelp implement and monitor Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)Support pupils with emotional regulation, social interaction, and communicationContribute to a positive and inclusive school environment, promoting independence and confidenceCollaborate with teachers, therapists, and the wider support team to deliver consistent care and support Assignment Details Full Time, Long Term Supply, Monday - Friday (Term time only) Person Specification Experience supporting children or young people with SEND, especially MLD or ASDAbility to support both learning and social development with a calm, adaptable approachA team player who can work collaboratively with other staff and contribute to a strong support systemA current DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one through ConnexWillingness to assist with personal care if required Why Join Connex Education?
