English Teacher – Secondary School Location: Middlesbrough Start Date: September 2025 Salary: Dependent on experience About the Role We are seeking a passionate and dedicated English Teacher to join our thriving secondary school in Middlesbrough. The successful candidate will inspire and challenge students across KS3 and KS4, delivering engaging lessons in English Language and Literature that foster a love of reading, writing, and communication.This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic teacher to make a real impact on students’ progress and achievement, while contributing to the wider life of the school. Key Responsibilities Plan and deliver high-quality English lessons to KS3 & KS4 students. Prepare students for GCSE examinations, ensuring high standards of attainment. Contribute to the development of an engaging and challenging English curriculum. Track and monitor student progress, providing support and interventions where necessary. Foster a positive classroom environment that promotes learning, creativity, and confidence. Engage with parents, carers, and colleagues to support student achievement and wellbeing. Qualifications & Experience Essential: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent. Strong subject knowledge in English Language and Literature. Experience teaching English in a secondary school setting. Excellent classroom management and communication skills. Desirable: Experience delivering A-Level English. Evidence of improving student outcomes at KS4. A passion for extracurricular activities related to English (e.g., debating, creative writing, drama). Why Join Us?
