About the Role We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join our dynamic consultancy team in London. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in electrical engineering and a passion for delivering high-performance solutions in the data centre sector. You will lead the design and coordination of electrical systems for complex, large-scale data centre projects across the UK and Europe. Key Responsibilities Lead the electrical design process from concept through to detailed design and construction. Develop and review electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, load calculations, and specifications. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including mechanical engineers, architects, and project managers. Ensure compliance with relevant standards, codes, and client requirements. Conduct site visits, inspections, and commissioning support as needed. Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical development within the team. Liaise with clients to understand project requirements and provide expert guidance. Manage project timelines, budgets, and deliverables effectively. Requirements Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field. Chartered Engineer status (or working towards) is highly desirable. Minimum 7 years of experience in electrical design, with at least 3 years in data centre projects. Strong understanding of power distribution, UPS systems, standby generation, and earthing systems. Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Amtech, and Dialux. Excellent communication and leadership skills.
