Step into a leadership role where your skills will make the biggest difference apply today.Please note - this advert will close once we have received a sufficient number of applications.The role:As our Lead Speech and Language Therapist, you will:Deliver highly specialist SLT assessment and intervention for patients with complex physical, cognitive, communication and behavioural difficulties following neurological injury or illnessLead on the development and delivery of evidence-based therapy programmes, working collaboratively with the wider MDT to achieve the best outcomes for patientsIndependently plan, deliver and evaluate communication therapy groups, ensuring practice is innovative and patient-centredUphold and model the highest standards of clinical care, ensuring practice reflects current national guidance and best practiceTake responsibility as Key Worker where appropriate, driving joined-up goal-setting, therapy planning and discharge coordinationProvide professional leadership, supervision and mentorship to junior SLTs and assistants, supporting their clinical development in line with ACG policyTake an active role in the induction, education and training of interdisciplinary team membersEnsure compliance with professional codes of practice, governance frameworks and regulatory requirementsContribute to service development, policy implementation and quality improvement initiatives within SLT and across the wider therapy serviceTake responsibility for safeguarding within your practice ensuring people are protected from harm, empowered to have a voice, and that their human rights are always upheldAbout you:For this role, you will need:HCPC registrationPrevious experience of working in a neurorehabilitation setting and in dysphagia assessment and managementThe ability to supervise and mentor junior SLTs and assistantsStrong leadership, communication, and organisational skillsSuccessful candidates will be required to undergo an Enhanced DBSWe also want to ensure that individuals with disabilities are provided reasonable facilities to participate in job applications or interviews to perform essential job functions.
