EYFS Teaching Assistant – Join Our Early Years Team! Location:Plymouth Start Date: Plymouth Contract Type: Part-time / Term Time Only Contract Length: Temporary Salary: £95-£100 About the Role Are you passionate about giving children the best possible start in their education journey?We’re looking for a caring, enthusiastic and proactive EYFS Teaching Assistant to join our nurturing Early Years team in and around Plymouth. You will work alongside experienced staff in a Reception or Nursery class, supporting children in their learning, development, and play.This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working with young children and wants to make a real impact in a warm and welcoming school community. Key Responsibilities Support the class teacher in delivering high-quality early years education and care Work with small groups and individual pupils, helping to meet their learning and developmental needs Assist in planning, preparing, and organising engaging play-based activities Observe and record children’s progress, contributing to learning journals and EYFS assessments Promote positive behaviour and ensure a safe, inclusive learning environment Help with setting up and tidying the classroom, including indoor and outdoor area What We’re Looking For Essential: Experience working with children in an EYFS setting (Reception or Nursery) Good understanding of the EYFS framework and child development A nurturing, patient and flexible approach Strong communication and teamwork skills A commitment to safeguarding and supporting the wellbeing of all pupils Desirable: A relevant childcare or education qualification (e.g. Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning, Early Years Educator) Paediatric first aid certification Experience working with children with SEND About Vision for Education Vision for Education is a market-leading education recruitment and supply agency committed to the learning and development of young people.With branches across the country, we are an employer of choice for high-quality primary, secondary and SEND teaching and support staff.
