Commissioning Engineer / Lead Commissioning Engineer / Data Centre Engineer required to join a market-leading global electrical manufacturer. The successful Commissioning Engineer / Lead Commissioning Engineer / Data Centre Engineer will be responsible for leading and delivering commissioning of MV/HV power distribution systems across EMEA data centres, ensuring projects meet the strictest safety, reliability, and uptime standards. You’ll oversee testing, compliance, and project execution while mentoring engineers and managing contractors to guarantee technical excellence. PackageCompetitive salary with overtime and allowancesCompany vehicle (plus travel allowance where applicable)Healthcare and High pension schemeGlobal exposure with travel across EMEACareer development with training, certifications, and progression opportunitiesCommissioning Engineer / Lead Commissioning Engineer / Data Centre Engineer RoleCommission MV/HV systems (11kV–33kV) including RMUs, VCBs, AIS/GIS switchgear, transformers, UPS, STS, and protection relaysPerform protection testing – secondary injection, relay configuration, breaker timing, load bank and diagnostic checksDeliver FAT/SAT, functional testing, and fault diagnostics in mission-critical environmentsAct as AP/AE for HV switching, isolation, and electrical safety complianceLead and mentor commissioning teams, ensuring safety and technical excellence in Tier III/IV data centresTroubleshoot, integrate with SCADA/BMS platforms, and manage client handovers across EMEA projectsCommissioning Engineer / Lead Commissioning Engineer / Data Centre Engineer RequirementsDegree or Higher Diploma in Electrical EngineeringExtensive MV/HV commissioning experience (11kV–33kV) – RMUs, VCBs, AIS/GIS switchgear, transformers, UPS, STS, protection relays or similar.Expertise in protection testing – secondary injection, relay setup, breaker testing, and fault analysisProven track record in mission-critical environments, ideally Tier III/IV data centres, with knowledge of redundancy systems (N+1, 2N)Skilled in testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and fault-finding of complex MV/HV installationsExperience as AP/AE for HV switching and electrical safety complianceLeadership capability to mentor, supervise, and direct commissioning teamsFlexibility to travel extensively across EMEA to lead international projects
