Job Title: Aspiring Speech and Language Therapist – 1:1 Support Location: Haringey, London Salary: £90 - £110 Start Date: AsapAbout Us: At GSL, we are passionate about supporting every child to reach their full potential. We pride ourselves on providing an inclusive and nurturing environment where children with diverse communication needs can thrive.The Role: GSL is looking for a compassionate and motivated aspiring Speech and Language Therapist (or someone training in this field) to provide 1:1 support to a non-verbal child. You will work closely with the child, their teachers, and parents to develop communication strategies and support their learning and social development.Key Responsibilities: Support a non-verbal child using augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) strategies.Assist in implementing personalised speech and language programs under guidance from a qualified SLT.Work closely with teachers and support staff to integrate communication strategies into daily school activities.Monitor progress and provide feedback to the SLT, teachers, and parents.Encourage social interaction, confidence, and independence through communication-focused activities. Person Specification: Studying or training to become a Speech and Language Therapist, or equivalent experience working with children with communication needs.Passionate about helping children develop communication skills.Patience, empathy, and creativity in supporting a non-verbal child.Good communication and teamwork skills.Enthusiastic, adaptable, and committed to making a difference in a child’s life.
