Senior Risk & Audit Quantitative Analyst Location: London, Houston or Geneva Industry: Commodities Salary: Dependent on location, £110,000 - £130,000 + bonus in London Function: Internal Audit The Opportunity A global commodities firm is seeking a quantitatively strong professional to join a small but influential team operating at the intersection of Internal Audit and Risk Management. This newly defined position will play a key role in challenging and validating models, assumptions, and methodologies used across market and credit risk functions. This is a rare opportunity to move into a broad and high-impact role that supports audit's independent view while actively engaging with risk modelling teams across the business. Key Responsibilities Act as the primary liaison between Internal Audit and Risk teams (Middle Office) Challenge the integrity of risk models, estimates, stress testing, and pricing assumptions Support audit reviews with a deep understanding of market, credit, and operational risk Help evolve audit methodology to better reflect quantitative risks and control frameworks Deliver insight and assurance on model governance, risk architecture, and controls Collaborate across global teams including trading, risk, and compliance Candidate Profile Strong academic background in a quantitative discipline (mathematics, physics, engineering, data science) Experience working in the risk department of a trading house or commodities-focused business Familiarity with energy or metals markets (physical or derivatives exposure preferred) Able to critically evaluate risk models and assumptions used in pricing, valuation, or limit setting Background in internal audit, model validation, or quantitative risk is highly advantageous While candidates from banking may be considered, the preference is for those with a commodities or trading background Open to those with direct experience in a similar role or those seeking a move out of a high-intensity environment such as the front office or risk management teams Why Apply Rare cross-functional role with exposure to both internal audit and risk modelling Opportunity to shape a growing function at a global leader in trading International scope and location flexibility High visibility, high impact work
