What You'll Be Doing as an SEMH Teaching Assistant: Deliver tailored 1:1 and small group support to students with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour. Implement strategies to improve emotional regulation, resilience, and behaviour management. Assist the class teacher in creating a calm, structured, and engaging classroom environment. Collaborate with SENCOs and external professionals to track student progress. Use your knowledge of trauma-informed practice and de-escalation to support pupils effectively. What We're Looking For: To be successful in this SEMH Teaching Assistant role in Wembley, you must have: ✅ A minimum of 1 year's experience supporting children or young people with SEMH needs-ideally in a school, PRU, or alternative provision setting. ✅ A calm, empathetic, and non-judgemental approach to supporting behaviour. ✅ The ability to remain consistent and build strong, trusting relationships with students who may have experienced trauma, exclusion, or instability. ✅ Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with staff, families, and external agencies. ✅ A genuine passion for improving the life chances of vulnerable young people.
