Job Title: Subject Specialist Location: Barnsley Pay Rate: £83 – £95 per day Start Date: Immediate Contract Type: Full-time / Part-time | Day-to-day / Long-termAre you passionate about sharing your subject expertise and supporting school students in their learning journey?GSL Education are seeking a Subject Specialist to work in schools across Barnsley. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals with strong subject knowledge to inspire students, provide targeted academic support, and contribute to a positive classroom environment.As a Subject Specialist, you will: Deliver engaging subject-focused support sessions across a range of year groups.Work with students 1:1 or in small groups to raise attainment and build confidence.Support teachers in delivering lessons by sharing your subject expertise.Encourage positive behaviour and student participation in learning.Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teaching staff.Ensure a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment. Requirements for Subject Specialist: A strong academic background in your subject area.Previous experience supporting young people in an educational or mentoring capacity is desirable.Excellent communication and organisational skills.A proactive and flexible approach to supporting learners.An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).A full CV covering the last 10 years of employment, with any gaps explained.
