We aim to provide adequate home support to prevent hospital admissions, reduce the escalation of care to non-home settings, and ensure a prompt return to usual residences following temporary care escalations. The role of Senior Occupational Therapists is crucial in overseeing the Occupational Therapy service within Islington adult social care, including children's cases. They provide specialist advice, support, and leadership to the multidisciplinary team, ensuring high-quality, strengths-based practice in line with statutory responsibilities.Responsibilities:Oversee the Occupational Therapy service within Islington adult social care, including children's cases.Provide specialist advice and support to Occupational Therapists and the multidisciplinary team.Screen, prioritize, and allocate team tasks effectively.Supervise Occupational Therapists and authorize equipment and adaptation orders.Manage a small caseload of complex cases.Support the Service Lead in Occupational Therapy audits, service development, and implementing changes.Provide leadership and support to staff in fulfilling statutory responsibilities under the Care Act, Mental Capacity Act, and related laws and policies.Exemplify best practices in strengths-based, person-centered work with adults.Connect individuals with informal, community-based support whenever possible.RequirementsRequirements:Proven experience in Occupational Therapy within adult social care settings.Strong leadership and supervisory skills.Ability to manage complex cases and provide specialist advice.Familiarity with the Care Act, Mental Capacity Act, and related laws and policies.Commitment to strengths-based, person-centered practice.Excellent communication and collaboration skills within a multidisciplinary team.
