Counter Sales Assistant Location: Huddersfield Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 5:00pm, plus alternate Saturdays (1 on, 1 off) Salary: £30K DOE About the Role A well-established timber and building materials supplier is looking to recruit a motivated Counter Sales Assistant to join their team. This customer-facing role involves supporting both trade and retail customers with product advice, order processing and top-quality service. Key Responsibilities Serving customers at the trade counter, ensuring excellent service at all times Processing sales orders, quotations, and handling payments accurately Providing product knowledge, stock information and recommending alternatives where needed Keeping the trade counter area clean, organised and inviting for customers Coordinating with the warehouse team to ensure efficient order fulfilment Assisting with general branch duties when required About You Experience in customer service, sales, or a trade counter role (ideally within timber, builders merchants, or construction supply) Confident communication skills and a friendly, approachable manner Strong organisational skills and accuracy Ability to work well within a team in a busy environment Proactive and customer-focused attitude Basic IT competency for processing orders and checking stock Benefits Competitive salary Full-time, permanent position Opportunities to develop knowledge of timber and construction-related products Supportive team environment INDAC
